Our campers will spend their holiday in a typical mountain chalet in the center of Châtel, an old Savoyard village. Châtel is located 38 km from the city of Thonon-les-Bains.

With its valleys and mountains, open prairies, forests, lakes and alpine passes along the borders of Italy and Switzerland, the Haute- Savoie region is truly distinctive.

Summers here are alive with the mountainous splendor of the rocks and flora, jagged bronze-colored peaks and pale limestone cliffs, swaths of silvery blue thistles, gentians, and bell flowers. And in its midst, vast nature reserves, a wonderful animal kingdom full of rams and mountain goats, marmots, and other creatures great and small.

There are plenty of lake shores and alpine pastures just waiting to be discovered, every road and path will lead you straight to history, art, peaceful villages of old and the simple unaffected hospitality of mountain folk.

The Haute-Savoy is a land of « savoir-faire » where traditions are kept alive. Here children will discover a land of character, a perfect blend of culture and nature. At every bend and corner the Alps will open up their vast horizons!

OUR CENTER:

Our campers will spend their holiday in a typical mountain chalet in the center of Châtel, an old Savoyard village with a long farming tradition.

They will live among the « locals” who will share with them through different activities their knowledge of the local fauna and flora, as well as the traditions of this beautiful region of France.

Our typical chalet built in 1970, has been fully remodeled. It offers comfortable bedrooms (on 3 floors), a large dining-room with a view of the mountains and 4 activity rooms. Our center is located only a few minutes away from the center of the village.

ACCOMMODATION:

Separate quarters for boys and girls. Rooms with 4 to 6 beds (Shower facilities in each bedroom)

1st floor: 38 beds
2nd floor: 40 beds
3rd floor: 38 beds

Medical Service: Doctor and pharmacy in Châtel
Nearest hospital: Thonon-les-Bains (38 km)

TRANPORTATION: With the VSF group (and the French children) by TGV train from Paris to Thonon-les-Bains or Annecy (escorted by the camp staff) – transfer by shuttle bus to the camp site.
